Adenosine stress perfusion CMR accurately identifies the culprit vessel

چکیده
Background The diagnostic evaluation of patients with suspected ischaemic heart disease (IHD) frequently involves a functional assessment of ischaemia. Adenosine stress perfusion CMR is a non-invasive test with high sensitivity for the detection of IHD, however rarely is its accuracy for culprit vessel identification assessed. We sought to determine the accuracy of stress perfusion CMR for identifying the culprit vessel. Furthermore, we sought to affirm the specificity of a positive CMR against an angiographic gold standard.

Diagnostic Accuracy of Adenosine Stress Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Following Acute ST-segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction Post Primary Angioplasty
BACKGROUND Adenosine stress cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) has been proven an effective tool in detection of reversible ischemia. Limited evidence is available regarding its accuracy in the setting of acute coronary syndromes, particularly in evaluating the significance of non-culprit vessel ischaemia. Adenosine stress CMR and recent advances in semi-quantitative image analysis may pro...

OBJECTIVE To determine the safety and diagnostic accuracy of adenosine-stress cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) perfusion imaging early after acute ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) compared with standard exercise tolerance testing (ETT). DESIGN AND SETTING Cross sectional observational study in a university teaching hospital. PATIENTS 35 patients admitted with first acute STEMI. ...
متن کاملAdenosine stress CMR with variable density spiral pulse sequences accurately detects CAD with minimal dark-rim artifacts
Background Adenosine stress CMR perfusion imaging has numerous advantages over competing modalities for assessing CAD demonstrating high diagnostic and prognostic utility. However, adenosine stress CMR perfusion imaging is limited by motion-induced dark-rim artifacts (DRA) which may be mistaken for true perfusion abnormalities. We have previously demonstrated that a high-resolution variable-den...

Background Coronary computed tomography angiography (CTA) enables accurate anatomic evaluation of coronary artery stenosis, however lacking information about hemodynamical significance. The aim of this study was to evaluate 128-slice myocardial CT perfusion (CTP) imaging with adenosine stress using a high-pitch mode, in comparison with cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR). Methods and Resul...
متن کاملAdenosine stress CMR with spiral pulse sequences accurately detect CAD
Background Adenosine stress perfusion imaging with CMR has been limited by motion-induced dark-rim artifacts, which may be mistaken for true perfusion abnormalities. We have previously demonstrated that spiral pulse sequences can produce high quality first-pass perfusion images.[1] We have further improved this spiral technique using high-resolution variable density spiral trajectories and a no...
